Dear returned missionaries,
We are moving ahead with the conversion of Japanese Church magazines (Seito no Michi and Liahona) into MS Word so they can be put onto the Church Website. We could use some assistance here. Dennis Meurer can help train those interested in how to assemble the software to do this work. Dennis can be reached at:

For example, it would be nice to have a list of stories about Japan that have been given by general authorities in General Conference addresses. We could then find these stories on the Japanese website and convert them into MS Word and then into html files for the Japanese website.
Another project would be to assemble inspiring stories by general authorities that have been given in General Conference. For example President Monson has given many, many stories in General Conference. If we had a list of these stories with the date they were given, we could find them already translated in Japanese and assemble them together and post them like a mini-book of stories by President Monson. Elder Eyring and others also have their stories.
We are also working with Scot and Maurine Proctor, editors of Meridian Magazine (ldsmag.com) to establish a section on their website in Japanese.
We are looking for such things as:
1) Conversion stories of Japanese members.
2) Inspiring missionary experiences.
3) Essays in or about the Church in Japan.
4) Pictures from the past.
Ideally we would like all these in electronic format and in Japanese. We don't have many translators into Japanese to assist us. We are looking for a few more who can help us. As they feel a desire or inspiration to do so, we invite RM's to help us in this project. We don't need money as much as time and skill. Natives of Japan, including wives, who have translation experience will be particularly helpful, but others may be able to help also.
