Tohru Hotta, 40, of the Nagoya Japan Stake, is an area administrator for the Church Educational System in Japan. He was born in Onyu-gun, Japan, to Sakuo and Utako Toyoda Hotta. A convert to the Church, he was baptized April 12, 1964 in Nagoya-shi, Japan. He married Sachiko Tagawa May 3, 1967, and they are parents of four children. He received a degree in engineering from Shizuoka University and was an electrical engineer before he joined the Church Educational System in 1972. He served as a Sunday School president, branch clerk, MIA speech director, branch president's counselor, district councilor and mission Sunday School president's counselor. Sister Hotta was born in Kawakaki-shi, Japan, a daughter of Tsurumatsu and Teru Ueda Tagawa. Her past positions include home study institute teacher, ward Relief Society teacher and president, and district Relief Society president's counselor.
