Hiroshima Mission to be dissolved-Sendai Boundaries not affected 18 Feb 2010
In the February 12, 2010 Church News article that announced new and combined missions around the world, the Church announced that effective July 1, 2010, the Japan Hiroshima Mission will be combined with the Fukuoka and Kobe Missions.

David Bailey, an RM who lives in Saga (Kyushu, part of the Fukuoka Mission), reports church units located in the Hiroshima Stake and Yamaguchi District will be absorbed into the Fukuoka Mission and all other units will become part of the Kobe Mission.

Unlike when the Kobe Mission was dissolved in 2001 (then reestablished in 2007), there will be no ripple effect; no other Japan mission boundaries are affected beyond Fukuoka and Kobe. I've updated the chart showing the history of missions and their boundaries in Japan to reflect this upcoming change.
