Comentários:
As noted in the Mission History section, the Sendai Mission was established 01 July 1974 when the Japan East Mission, which was headquartered in Sapporo, was split into two missions. The island of Hokkaido became the Sapporo Mission and the six-prefecture Touhoku region of Honshu became the Sendai Mission. Many of the pioneer Sendai missionaries that started as Japan East missionaries served parts of their missions on Hokkaido.

Profiles of the two mission presidents who guided the East Mission prior to the split are located on the Sapporo Mission Alumni Site as follows:

Horiuchi, Russell N.
Koizumi Kotaro

Any RMs who served in cities in Touhoku or Niigata Prefecture in the Japan East Mission are welcome to register under this "President." Comments about mission life in those years are especially welcome.
