Thought I'd give out a little more personal info.....let's see....returned from Japan in 1992, went to Houston to teach. I enjoyed my teaching experiences there. I taught English as a Second Language to middle and high schoolers for 4 years. In Houston, I met my husband, Shawn, who was a ship's engineer at the time. We got married 5 months later. (yeah, quick! :) That was 14 years ago now and we're still chugging along.

We moved back to the midwest in 1996 for his job with Caterpillar - the big yellow daddy, as it is known around here. It took us 5 years and lots of ups and downs, but we finally had a baby girl in 1999. After a few more ups and downs with my health, we adopted an infant boy from Kazakhstan in 2002. Someday, we hope to adopt again.

We now live in Chennai (Madras), Tamil Nadu, India, having just moved here from Illinois. Check out my blog at www.my.opera.com/myfamilyinindia/blog/. You must register and sign in as a friend to view all the posts, but some are publicly available.

I'd be very interested in hearing from Carroll (now Calderon) shimai, Kawano Yoshimi shimai, Honma shimai, Spresser shimai, Peterson shimai, Mary Frances Coleback shimai, and of course my beloved Kitano Masako shimai. If anyone knows of their whereabouts, please let me know.

Thanks,

Teresa
