I just got this set up last week. It is helping my wife through the morning (evening for her) sickness. There are two ways you can get this. The first is through the company that broadcasts the channels. The problem is that they want you to sign a 2 year contract @ $23/month plus installation fee. In my opinion I think that is a little much. The second option is to go and buy the equipment yourself and install it. Installation isn't too bad and I'm sure you can find someone in your ward that could help you. Same procedure as installing a DishNetwork dish. The channels that are broadcasted for free are SBS, KBS, YTN(news channel), WOW (business channel) and M-NET (korean MTV type channel). SBS and/or KBS will sometimes have English subtitles. You also get Korea Radio and a Gospel Radio channel. If you do the $23/month option then you do get 2 extra channels, ISC & JSTV (Gospel channel). You can buy the equipment in a package or all separately. The cheapest way to do this is through eBay. Search word: 'free to air' (FTA). If you want to do some research on this before you go out and buy anything, do a search on 'free to air'. You can also go to www.lyngsat.com and click on the 'Free TV' catergory. These free channels are on the Galaxy-10R satellite. The package will run between $150-200. If anyone has any questions, feel free to email me at jao29@email.byu.edu. Jami Olsten |
