Comments:
Graduated from BYU in 1976 and became a woodshop teacher. I taught for one year in Milton, North Dakota and then returned to BYU and began working on a Masters Degree. After a year or so at BYU, I took a teaching job down in Mexico and taught school in Col. Dublán, Chihuahua Mex. for two years. I married Alesa Green from Pleasant Grove, Ut. during those two years in Mex. After my second year there, the peso devaluated so much, we couldn't stay, so we moved to West Valley City, UT. where I took a job in a cabinet shop and Alesa taught school for the next two years. I then took a job in Yuma, AZ teaching woodshop at Kofa High School. I taught shop for about 7 years and they did away with my program. I switched to teaching Spanish there. I have since become the Modern Language Dept. Chair and am now teaching English to Spanish speaking students in our school. These high schoolers come across the border from Mexico knowing no English. I have been here now for 21 years. I have a Master's Degree in Bilingual and Mulitcultual Education. I am in my last class for the Principal Certification for AZ. I have reservations about becoming a principal (which is understandable) but I think being an assistant principal would be more like it. We have one son returning next week from a mission in Costa Rica and another about half way through his mission in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. Spanish. We also have 3 girls, one a Frosh, and another a Senior in HS. Our oldest daughter is in college. I have served in about every calling in the ward, including Scout Master, Cub leader, Gospel Doctrine, Primary, and Young Men's. I have not served as Bishop, nor Bishop's counselor. I've served in the Stake as Stake Mission Pres. (when we had them), and High Counselor over the Spanish Branch. Iam presently the Ward Mission Leader.
