Hello,
I'm attempting to reach folks who served in the MMM during the period of 1980-82. I first served in Eau Claire, WI and I am looking to find folks from there as well as other areas. James Willis, Mimi Campenhout, Michelle Brumm, Steve Michaud and the Rindfleisch Familyh to name a few. I served under Pres. Brough and Mecham and would love to make contact with any of the Elders or Sisters who served during that time. I can be reached at billiam_azco@live.com or you can reach me at my office at 970.240.6888. I hope to hear from some folks. |

I remember Elder Lay. Great fellow.
The mission was actually the "Manitoba-Minnesota Mission" when President Peel first arrived. It took in most of North and South Dakota, a sliver of Iowa, all of Minnesota, all of Manitoba, and a good slice of Western Wisconsin. The North Pole was the northern border, and a transfer to Thompson in the north was a major journey. I remember seeing the Northern Indian Mission Elders once. Their mission overlapped ours in the Dakotas. |

Those of you who served with President Peel and President Callister would have known a good and gentle man by the name of David Lay. He spoke with an Australian accent and fought a stuttering problem. This was his second mission, his first being a building mission in Australia. He wanted to serve a proselyting mission and so at 26 years of age, off he went to the Minnesota Minneapolis Misison
He passed away this past weekend in a trajic industrial accident. Any who have memories of him are welcome to share those with his family. Please feel free to contact me, a younger brother, who lived in his vibrant shadow for many years. Call or email at 801-243-4343 or email to markslay@gmail.com

I am trying to locate an Elder Free that served probably somewhere around 2004. I met a gentleman, Richard Maden, that Elder Free visited in a County Jail somewhere around Minneapolis. Rich has become converted while in Federal Prison and is just waiting to get out to be baptized. He will be coming to Payson, Utah when he gets out and living with his sister who is a member. He would like to locate Elder Free and have him perfom the baptism if that is possible. If anyone knows how I can get ahold of Elder Free or if I have the name wrong and you recognize the situation and can tell me who the missionary is I would be really grateful. You can e-mail me at todcan@live.com. Todd Cannon |

My grandfather served in this area in 1929-1931. I know that was forever ago. It was called the North Central States Mission. He served with an Elder Cole and his name was Owen K.Smith. Both of them were from Utah. I have his old mission card which lists the address of the mission home as:
3044 Elliot Avenue
Minneapolis Minnesota
Mission President may have been Arthur Welling.
I was just wondering if there would be some information available from that time frame? I know it included all of Minnesota, North Dakota, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. It also included the eastern and central portions of South Dakota and Ontario west of Port Arthur. In 1926 all of Montana east of Great Falls was added to the North Central States mission.
Most of us weren't even born then, but I wondered if the was an archive somewhere with records or someone in the area with information from 1929 time frame.
Thanks

Thunder bay was taking out of the mission while I was out in 75 to 77. So sure the name was changed prior to 75. Cant tell you when or from what. |
|
I was in this mission in 75 to 77 adn yes it changed during the first few months I was out. |
|
I believe it would have been the Minnesota - Manitoba Mission at that time. It changed while I was on my mission to the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission.

Hello All,
My father, Paul Jones Sager, served his mission in and around Minneapolis from 1960-1962 (approximately). He died this past weekend and we were trying to find what the name of the mission was back in 1960.

I am looking for the Elders that baptised my parents. They were in the Austin, MN ward and were baptised in 1978. My mom thought the names were Elder Tyler (or Taylor), Elder Bennett, and Elder VanVolkenburg sounded familiar. Does anyone remember any of those elders/companions or have any information on them now? Or do you remember (if my mom is wrong) which Elders taught Dan or Carol Carolan? Thank You!

I was baptized in January of 2000 into the Dodge Center Branch of the Rochester MN Stake. I would like to write a letter to the two missionaries that taught me. Elder Hurd and Elder McKenzie. I know that Elder McKenzie is from Canada, and Elder Hurd is from Wyoming! |

If anyone has a current address or even an old one that would help a bunch. Thanks!! |

My comp. Sister Olsen and I tracted out a Laotion family in St. Cloud right across from the church. Pe Philavan (sp?) was the name of the mom. We taught her, her children and their cousins. Many of them were baptized. That was in 1990. In 16 years, I am very curious to know what happened to that family. The spirit was so strong in every discussion. The Laotion Elders helped teach too. If anyone lnows anything about this family or their whereabouts, please contact me at KimTWms@msn.com. |

I served with Pres Brough and Mecham. I was using Dearelder.com when I saw this. Life is good and my family is well. My prayers and hopes are all is good with everyone else. |

Hey all you missionaries who served in the Rockford ward (pre-mission split) and La Crosse Ward:
Three years ago, Dad "Tex", decided to be baptised. Two months after making that decision, he was diagnosed with lung cancer ... it had spread to most of his organs. It advanced to rapidly for him to be able to be baptised prior to his death but a year later, in the Chicago temple, my husband, Dwain Miller (La Crosse ward), was able to do his work by proxy, sealing mom and dad together forever, and me to them.
A year later, after a great deal of juggling on our part, we were able to help Mom fulfil her long-time dream of going on a mission herself.
In February, we drove her to O'Hare (we're all back in Illinois again) and sent her off on an 18-month mission to the ... get this... FIJI ISLANDS!! She won the lottery of missions!
to read more about it, follow this link... this person had a blog and read about Mom's story and added it to her site: it's the only online version left!
Also, mom's email is "portner7@hotmail.com" . I know she'd love to hear from any of the missionaries she's fed over the years... remember the taco's??
God Bless!
