A published author, Robin has had articles in the Chicago Sun Times, the Los Angles Times, the New York Times, the Texas Organic Growers Association and co-authored a bill to the Texas Legislature for Organic Growing Certification for the State of Texas. He is currently penning a book on the Jaredites. He is also known for his expertise in Church History. For all of Robin's other writing's, he is now represented by the ST Literary Agency. His lastest publications are given on his website at www.theadventuresofsapo.stauthor.com He is a veteran of Desert Storm, serving 13 years in the U.S Air Force. He met Maria Elena Elizondo at BYU and married her in the Provo Temple on April 20, 1978. Maria is an actor/director/producer and is known in the business by her professional name of Tyger Nelson. (She was featured in Entertainment Tonight) They have three children: Olivia, Robin Alan II (Shadow) and Eva. Olivia is a junior at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), Shadow is a freshman at UTSA and will be doing an internship with NASA for the next three summers. He will be graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering before he turns 19, then he will leave on his mission. Eva is a straight 'A' student at Jefferson High School. Both parents and children are VERY active in the community and Church serving every calling given to them; Robin being called to Bishop at the age of 29, five Bishoprics and one Stake Presidency later he is again in a Bishopric. He started his mission under Pres. & Sis. Doxey and when the mission was split to form the Iowa Des Moines Mission, the new President to the Missouri Independence Mission, Edward Johnson called him to be office secretary and car czar for six months. The San Antoio Temple will be dedicated on May 22, 2005, The night before will be a Jubilee Spectacular sponsor by the Church and produced by some of the people who put on the opening and closing of the Winter Olympics at Salt Lake. It will be at the Alamodome (seating 35,000). Following the show the Prophet will be giving a fireside. We are so excited! Please let us know if anyone is coming down for this event.
