| Hi everybody. I just wanted to give an update and stay in touch with those I served with. We're still living in France and I quit work to take care of my baby girl but unfortunately she's been in the hospital for three months, and hasn't come home since the delivery. She had two operations and is doing well and I hope next week she'll be home. Life is good here in France. I went hiking yesterday in the Alpes and it was absolutely marvelous with the beautiful array of fall coulours. My husband just started on line classes and so we are now plunged once again into the joyful world of being "students." It'll be a five year degree so we have some time ahead of us but it's worth it. Well, I would LOVE to hear from anyone I served with. Love Sister Otis |

Hi to everyone from the 1998-1999 era. I hope everyone is doing well. My husband and I just got back from a trip to Europe. We stopped in Germany and visited with Uli Broddman and her family. She is doing great. She and her husband have two beautiful kids, a two year old son named Joshua, and a newborn named Lynn. She doesn't have email, but if anyone would like to contact her, email me and I'll send you her information. As far as I go, we just moved into a house in Downtown Salt Lake, and we are adopting a baby who is due in February. We are excited about that. It is great to read everyone's updates. I hope you are all doing well. Bayartai.

My wife and I were also planning to travel by train to save on travel expenses. However, we couldn't seem to find a way to book tickets or find contact information. I got the general idea from my mother-in-law that the ticket buying is done there in person, but I may be totally wrong.
We decided to spend the extra money on plane tickets instead of traveling for 72 hours both ways with an 18 month old.
Hotel rooms should be a lot easier to work on.. |

Is anyone traveling to Mongolia in July by train from Beijing to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia? Would any of you know how to reserve train tickets and hotels to stay? I'm finding a little hassle to get information about traveling to Mongolia by train.
My husband and I planning a trip to Mongolia for Naadam, and we are not sure how to reserve train tickets and etc.
If you know anything about it, please let us know and your info will be appreciated.

| We found a GREAT book written by John and Nancy Hopkins, a returned missionary couple called "Mongolia: The Circle in the Clouds." It can be ordered at www.walkingthelinebooks.com, or through Deseret Book. The website also has great pictures of their mission and the people. I also have a how-to packing list from a mom of a returned Mongolian missionary. We look forward to seeing the new missionaries at the MTC on June 30th! |

| I wanted to post a message to any parents who have a missionary currently serving in Mongolia, or one that is newly called. I have an email support group set up just for parents of missionaries serving in Mongolia. If you'd like to join, please email me at: Betty@ourldsfamily.com or go to http://www.ldsmissionarymoms.com and join with us. As a family we wrote to several Mongolian missionaries serving all over the U.S. One returned home, and then came back to the U.S. and lived with us for a few months. Anyone know Otgonbayar? Otgoo? She now lives in Provo. I recognize some of the names you've all mentioned. :-) |

Some months ago I posted a message and got an amazing amount of responses. Thanks so much!
I wrote to ask for help in befriending a new memeber of the Church that was from Mongolia--well in the mean time he has been deported back to Mongolia. Zolboo was detained in Arizona while on vacation and unable to return to Idaho to retrieve any of his belongings before being deported. So the question is: How is the postal service there in Mongolia? If we send him a package will it arrive safely? How long would it take? He called several days ago and said that he is in the City(capitol) of Mongolia.
I hope to hear from you.
Thanks a ton |
