Elder Solmes has come home! 18 Oct 2003
Elder Isaac Solmes returned home from his mission to Mongolia yesterday with a whole slew of other missionaries whose names I don't know. He said that they had to stay the night in Korea and when they went through customs, an official had to wash their shoes! They were not able to go to the temple, but hey had a lot of fun speaking Mongolian everywhere they went. In Korea, the group split up. Only one other elder was traveling to the eastern part of the United States, so they flew together to Tokyo and then Chicago. He seems very happy to be with his family again but a bit out of sorts. I think he's a bit uncomfortable with all the attention he is getting at home. He brought home gifts of paintings and clothing. I'm really glad he's back.
