Like - why were we forced on the last night of some months to go out till midnight and find people to baptise just to get our "numbers" up? That was not safe in New Jersey!!
Why were we constantly getting rebuked from our mission leaders? Why were we always FORCED to push our goals beyond reach. Remember when 10 first discussions in a week wasn't good enough and "if you have faith you should be able to teach 20""don't you have faith in the lord elder?"
I honestly got in trouble from Elder Brian Crane for reading the BIBLE!! - We couldn't read any other books then the scriptures and when I got caught reading the bible(which I thought was fine)he let me have it. It was a miserable 2 years and I believe some of us feel the exact same way. Why else would our mission numbers go from 215 baptisms a month in late 1996 to 15 baptisms a month just 18 months later?
I feel bad that myself and others baptised so many people that weren't ready for baptism. But on the bright side - atleast we got our numbers for that week.
I want to say that the Church is TRUE. My wife and I are active in the church and love our callings - it was just a horrible 2 years that I try to forget. |

| LDS QUOTE: |
|
"It is not just that the Book of Mormon teaches us truth, though it indeed does that. It is not just that the Book of Mormon bears testimony of Christ, though it indeed does that, too. But there is something more. There is a power in the book which will begin to flow into your lives the moment you begin a serious study of the book. You will find greater power to resist temptation. You will find the power to avoid deception. You will find the power to stay on the strait and narrow path." |
