Sept 2009
I made my City/ Companion list from memory; Hope I didn't miss anyone.
Lynda and I just sent Ryan, our oldest, off to BYU. He looked at other schools and even went to visit one in St. Louis but was appalled at the behavior of the students.
Today I am contemplating the last 23 years since I left for the mission field and how my life has changed because of it. I did marry Lynda, the girl whose picture I carried around NZ. Upon returing home I followed the commitment pattern and proposed only 12 days later. We were sealed in March 89. I finished up my Biology degree and started a business which i sold 9 years later. Then I went to work designing medical monitoring equipment which i did until just recently.
A year ago I had an opportunity to go to London twice, Once in January and once in April. The company I worked for at the time had a distributor there and I jumped at the chance to go. It reminded me so much of NZ it was scary. Went to church at the Hyde Park Chapel and it was like being in the city zone with Hoole, Miller, Steadman, Snyder (Steadboy and Slider) and Giles. It is amazing how much we remember and only need a little reminder and it comes rushing back. When I got home I reread my mission journals again. Wish i would have written more.
A big thank you goes out to all of my companions and the other missionaries I met and worked with.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ it True.
