Comments:
Since my mission I have served in the USAF, went to college, married, had a family and moved more times than someone in the Federal witness protection program. I am so happy to be a part of the NFEM alumni. Our children have all moved on to their own little worlds. Oldest, Ben, lives in Washington state. Next, Amy, lives in Cedar Hills, UT. she has 5 children, 4 from her husbands previous marriage. Last, but not least, Samantha. She has 2 children and one to be coming in June. Linda and I moved to Utah about a year ago so we could be closer to the grand kids. It's been great being so close to them. One sour note. Last November Linda decided she didn't want to be married anymore. After 37 years together you figure if there were any "issues" they would have been worked out long ago. She hasn't given any reason. Only to say "irreconcilable" differences? It took the entire family completely off guard. I am still close with the kids and grandkids and once in a while Linda and I are at the same family activities.
It's really odd. But we're dealing with it.
Bob passed away on Sept 5th, 2008. He went into a diabetic coma and his heart stopped. My kids and I buried him next to his parents in the SLC cemetery. We talked about it a lot and we all feel that he is in a better place considering the medical problems he was having. We are also at peace that he passed without pain.

"Obedience is the price, faith is the power, love is the motive, the Spirit is the key, and Christ is the reason." The motto of the Japan Fukuoka Mission can be applied not only to missionary work, but to everyday life. -BYU President Bateman
