I am now working at the Jordan River Temple as a veilworker. Elder Meyer, suddenly passed away at home Monday, September 10, 2007. Born June 13, 1947 in SLC to Sterling and Jeanne Meyer. Married Jane Lloyd August 10, 1971 in the SLC Temple. He was an active LDS church member all of his life and was currently a temple ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple. Over the years he has served in many callings and was currently the Sunday School president in his ward. Drake served a full-time mission in Japan from 1966-69. He was still fluent in Japanese and had a love for learning new languages. Four children and two sons-in-law: Jackie (Brian) Wallenberg; Stacy (John) Hamm; Jenny; and Jeff. He has one granddaughter Elizabeth Wallenberg and he was anxiously looking forward to having two grandsons in the next two months. Graduated Highland HS; BS in accounting at the UofU. He owned his own CPA practice. He attended his last Ute football game this past Saturday. Drake loved playing golf and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Drake was a pilot. He used to fly and sell small airplanes in Ogden with his father. Survived by his wife and children; brother Kerry; sister Michele (Tom) O'Connor; Beverly Lloyd; John Lloyd; brothers-in-law, John (Carolee) Lloyd and Richard (Shauna) Lloyd; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept 15, 2007 at the Crescent North Stake Center; 10600 So. 1050 East. Interment will be at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
