Returned to Norway to study at Universitet i Oslo in 1997--a competely different exposure to Norway and Norskies resulting in a deeper appreciation of both. I married Julie (Wanlass) in 1999, and graduated with a B.A. in English from BYU shortly thereafter. I earned my Juris Doctorate from Willamette University in 2005 (Jarom Bangerter was a classmate). Our first child, M. Mason Hemmert, was born January 22, 2007. We are expecting another child in early February, 2009.
After a year or so of working as a litigator, I left private practice and went to the corporate world. For a little over a year I worked as Associate Corporate Counsel for SirsiDynix, the largest automated library systems company in the world, where I was the international and domestic contract administrator and negotiator and also functioned as the industrial security administrator (Facility Security Officer). I currently work at Omniture, Inc., as Associate Counsel of Direct Licensing. Omniture is a publicly traded company (OMTR) and is the premiere provider of web analytics and other internet-based services.
