News Item: Mission.net, Spamming, and Email Blockages

Many of you using hotmail.com might have noticed you do not receive acknowledgements of your profile updates, weekly digests, news notices, etc. from DNM (Mission.net). Hotmail utilizes a Spam blocking service (Spamhaus) which protects their account holders from spam messaging (something we all suffer from on a daily basis!).
Mission.net, however, has been added to Hotmail's Spamhaus service and we have not been able to get off after numerous tries over the past year. What this means for you Hotmail users: automated password requests, profile update approvals, and the other types of information periodically sent to you by Mission.net for Den Norske Misjon will be blocked.
I receive a notice for each of these actions but due to the quantity am unable to individually forward all traffic to each user due to the extensive amount of bounced messages. I do forward automated account resets as those are minimal and easy to send on from my personal account.
Suggestions to consider, 1) Change your account email to another free service (GMail, Juno, LDS.net, etc.) and update your profile with the new email address, 2) Contact your service provider with the information about the email being blocked and request mission.net be added to their approved provider listing, 3) Periodically check DNM's website for updated content.
I usually respond to updated profiles, comments, news releases, and messages within 24-hours of submittal. I'll keep you posted on any updates in this area.
I appreciate the many positive comments about the site this year and the suggestions I have received. My work schedule this past 18 months has been very hectic but is now slowing down to where I can begin working a redesign of the site to make it more ekte norsk. I am open to ideas and suggestions on what to include in the site but will make the final determination of content, quality, and appropriateness in light of the Mission.net Acceptable Use Policy.
