Stories: Northern Lights
Displaying 1 - 1 of 1 -- Add Story
Most missionaries who lived north of Trondheim have seen the Northern Lights. When we were in Tromso from July 1967 to December 28th we saw both extremes of daylight and darkness. Nothing could have prepared me for seeing the Northern Lights for the first time in November. We were walking back from the hospital where we had visited an investigator, when there was a power outage. All houses and buildings were dark. No street lights, either. The town was lighted only by the aurora borealis and it was spectacular. We kept walking, looking up in the sky and couldn't take our eyes off the beauty above. When we stopped to tell some members what we had seen, they nodded and smiled as if to say, "Now you know one more amazing natural wonder we enjoy." |
