When I was 18 I was in a serious car accident where the SUV that I was driving ended up landing on my head. I was in a coma for 6 months. The doctors would not allow me to serve a Full-Time Mission away from home because of all the "experimentle operations I had done on my brain. I served a Stake Mission for about three years. Since I was unemployed I spent almost all day of every day helping the Elders of the OPM that were in Oregon City. The OPM Mission President and the Oregon City Stake President wrote letters asking if I could receive a Full-Time Mission Call while I was still living at home so the doctors would approve. I was called to be a Full-Time Church Service Missionary under the direction of the Mission Presidency. I served in the OPM for about 1 1/2 years and my Mom passed away. My Dad and I moved to Klamath Falls, OR I was was transfered to the OEM under the direction of President and Sister Cushing. The 5 years I spent as a Stake Missionary and as a Full-Time Missionary have been the best 5 years of my life so far!!! |
