Hey Harvey, Walsman, and all you other lovely people. I just wanted to say hi and see how everyone else is doing. I'm done with college and I'm stilllll single so hook me up. I just got back from visiting Panama and it was so awesome. The mission has changed a lot and the missionaries even get more money now. While I was down in central America I was robbed in costa Rica of all of my money and ID so if i could recommend anything it would to fly directly to Panama and don't worry about saving some money by flying to costa rica. Oh yea I didn't get stuck with another needle or get dengue so don't be scared to go down there. LOL

I'd like to announce a new development in the continuing saga of my recent trip to Panama. Since I took thousands of photos, it was getting a bit confusing with all the different photo galleries. So I've designed a portal page where you can easily (and logically) gain access to all the photos that I took on my trip. The link is:
http://www.avidcreative.com/jacom/panama
Keep in mind that I have not built photo galleries for ALL of the areas yet (I only have 4 of 11 completed so far). The newest one is Guadalupe, la Chorrera. Keep checking back periodically to see the other areas as they are completed. There are also a couple of cool panoramic photos that you may enjoy.
Some of you have asked for high resolution files of some of the photos for posters or screen savers... if you have specific requests, just let me know and I will be happy to oblige.

I've posted the photos of the Torrijos Carter, San Miguelito area that I took on my recent trip to Panama. You can view them at http://www.avidcreative.com/jacom/panama-tcarter
Enjoy!
Watch for more photos of other areas in the near future... Panama City, El Summit Zoo, the Canopy Tower, Chame, Valle de Anton, the Camopy Adventure, El Nispero Zoo, la Chorrera, Bocas del Toro and Puerto Bello.

Thanks for all your great comments on the photos I took on my trip to Panama. Many people have inquired about the locations and people featured, so I have uploaded descriptions. You can view them at http://www.avidcreative.com/jacom/panamabest Just click on the Image Info tab at the bottom of the main image window to see the description.
You can also view a new panoramic photo of the Postrero Grande area of La Chorrera, shot from the hill at the end of the El Espine chiva route. See it at http://www.avidcreative.com/jacom/panamabest/postrero-grande-panorama.jpg
Enjoy.

Hello! As some of you may already know, I just recently returned from a very enjoyable vacation to Panama and I thought you'd like to see some of the photos. I was down there for about two weeks and shot nearly 4,000 images, so it's taking a long time to review and sort them all. Here is a preview of some of my favorite ones so far: http://www.avidcreative.com/jacom/panamabest In the next couple of weeks (once I've had a chance to review and sort the rest of the photos), I will post a link to a more complete sampling (approx. 300-400 photos). You will notice that most of these photos are more artistic than documentary in style (ie: no friends posing in front of a chapel) because since I am a photographer by trade, I tend to look through the lens with my "work" eye. I think you will find them enjoyable anyway. If any of you want to have prints made of specific images, just let me know so I can get you the high resolution files. I had several of them blown up to 36" x 24" and framed for our living room walls and they turned out great!
The main areas of Panama that I visited are: San Miguelito (Torrijos Carter), Chorrera (Guadalupe and El Coco), Valle de Anton, Panama City and Bocas del Toro. There are some things about Panama that have changed dramatically in the last 7 years... the Corredores (toll freeways), the many new centros comerciales, all the new buildings downtown, etc. and both Torrijos Carter and El Coco now have their own, beautiful chapels. I was able to find many of the families that I was able to help learn the gospel as well as many of the members that helped us in the work. It was reassuring to find that almost all of them were still active and strong in the gospel. I was impressed by just how much the Torrijos Carter and El Coco wards have matured spiritually. I wish I could have stayed down there a whole lot longer--I had a great time and it was very hard to get back on the plane. If any of you would like more specific info. on how things are going down there or about particular families, just send me an email.
