Rio Parana 26 Jun 2007
I remember one of my last baptisms in the mission. I was in a fairly new area (after leaving the office in Herrera), in a Co-companionship. We had no font or even a colapsible pool to use. I tried to get one from Distribution, but to no avail. So we decided the only thing to do was to use the only body of water available - the Rio Parana. We started to walk the shore to find a spot to use, and quickly found out why it's called the Rio PARANA. Dead fish and animals all over the shoreline. We finally found a place that we figured would be secluded, but open enough for the baptism. Our baptism said he didn't care where it was done, or whom did it. What a sport! Anyhow, my companion and him went into the water, with a prayer in ALL of our hearts, and we saw the fish in the water swimming around, but they avoided where he was at, in fact some swam in a small row along side them. The baptism was QUICK needless to say (fortunately there was no need to repeat it). The branch had set up a place to dry him off and we did the confirmation in the rented house we used for a chapel.
