Vandalism in the church? 30 Jan 2006
I decided to pull a few stories from my mission journal for all to enjoy. The date was January 31st 1995, a preparation day. I remember walking into the cultural hall of Beaver Valley Ward. There was snow outside on the ground. I remember looking on the floor and seeing snow all over it (atleast I thought it was snow). I then looked up and saw the backboard to the basketball hoop shattered. My companion had done a slam dunk on the basketball hoop and unintentionally broke it. Gossip went all through the ward about that incident but atleast we were never required to pay for it. The mission president wasn't too happy when he heard about it. One of the members actually thought someone had broke into the building and vandalized the basketball hoop. He had called the police but found out through a few phone calls what had happened so things ended being cleared up.
