Sister Laserna 14 May 2007
I just wanted to tell the story of my best friend who recently passed away. Sister Laserna served in our mission from 1998-2000 and she was known as one happy sister & full of energy. After her mission, she continued to work with the missionaries, went tracting with them and continued her missionary effort. She has been diabetic since she was in high school. One day after tracting, she got a blister on her ankle and it swell until the doctors were ready to amputate her leg. But she was a fighter, she fought really hard and her body reacted to antibiotics and she got better but she lost her vision. But it didn't stop her from continuing her missionary effort, she went to church every Sunday, worked with the missionaries, did her visiting teaching and fellowship members of the church. Just a few weeks ago, her kidneys failed and she died of complications. I am so proud to be a close to fiend to her, she was such a great example to me and she will always be. I really admire her undying testimony and commitment to missionary work. I hope we can all follow her example and keep the missionary spirit in us. I love Sister Laserna and this is dedicated to her.
