My husband and I are excited to come to Olongapo this fall. We are interested in learning about the branch, ward there and what living conditions are like for couples.
All the photos we've seen indicate that this is such a beautiful area.
See you soon. The Snows |

hi hello,
naka usap ko si president, ng olongapo mission, naglakas me ng loob na sabihin sa kanya buo na ang loob ko at decisyon ko na soon mag serve me as a full time missionaries, dito ko napatunayan ang dami lost souls kung hindi sa mga missionaries hindi ako ma save, at maging member, i hope mapaglabanan ko ang mga trials, mas malakas ng temptation talaga, sa lahat
di ako mapaniawla na marami ang strong person pero na failed at nanghina ng faith kaya nanatili me sa church, i love missionary work |

ang saya saya talaga, :>
u know what mga friends, nag hiking ako, holy week, 6 days wala work sa candelaria beach family reunion, nakita ko ang kagandahan ng mga falls gods work nya at lalo lumakas ang presensya ko sa kanya, at sa bawat nagtravel ako out of town nakita ko ang mga churches ng mormons, sa masinloc iba, san marcelino san narciso san felipe botolan, catillejos, paluig, cabanggan, at we are bless bcz, ang dami churches na pwede natin puntahan, where ever we go out of town or across the miles, bcz we pay our tithing and pay the temple construction, na miss ko talaga ang calapacuaan branch kanina lang nakita ko iyun, ang dami scriptures na mababasa natin sa church,
i always visit sa iba pang branches even do ako lang mag isa i travel na mag visit sa san narciso, ito lang ang tanging paraan na mahanap ko ang sarili ko, even do baptised na me sa mormons, mas malakas parin ang present ng buddhism bcz my family pure and genelogy buddhism talaga kaya suprise me marami lds church,
at dito ko na realized sa past religion ko kailangan ko pa mag biyahe from Olongapo City patungo Quezon City Complex para makapag attend ng meetings patungo buddha temple, at wala din kami magazine, never nagkaroon ng simbahan dito sa OLongapo ang mga buddhism, if we hv trials busy ang mga members kaya wala malapitan not like mormons, ang liahona scriputres ang nagbibigay ng advice at palago ng ating spiritual,
every sunday 3 or 4 churches ng lds ang binbisita ko, para ma explore lalo ang simbahan ay totoo at totoo si joseph smith, i really inpire sa mga messages ng speaker kaya eto ang way even do dami trials nagawa ko pa mag missionary work sa mga members ng church! ito ang pinagkukunan ko ng lakas

hello! sa lahat,
again im really thankful talga sa mga members at full time missionaries, u know what 4 na branch nag tulungan para ako ay mabinyagan, sabi nila im so really bless, bcz si President burtenshaw ang nag baptised sa akin, hanga ako sa pagiging humble ng mag asawa,
branch 2 elder deker ang nag confirmation and branch 1 ang totoo location ko ngayon, branch 3 ang mostly active na umattend ung day ng baptism ko, sinabi ko sa mga sister my umattend man o wala basta tuloy parin, pero naging masaya lahat ang dami nag participate at welcome ako talaga ng branch 3 eto ang origin ko, im so happy na ginampanan ng parents ko ang tuluyan mag escape sa chinese community, but nakalimutan nila ang religion na buddhism na connect parin, for 23yrs i ask my parents at answer nila international ang kinagisnan ko, marami ang american ang na convert sa dati ko religion, at iba pa nationality but im so thankful sa aklat ni mormons ayaw ko na sumamba ng dios diyusan, at ako ang magiging tulay para ang susunod na generation, ma guide ko sa tunay na simbahan kaya even do napakarami trials lumalaban ako, at naging matatag ako sa mga nag daan pagsubok, nagpasalamat ako kay elder nielsen and elder rondo, they help me na matulungan nila ako, at kay elder deker, at sa mga president ng branch 1,2,3,
finally ako ang daan na tuluyan na kami mag escape sa chinese community, and religion, nakaramdam ako ng kalayaan sa mga kasalanan, bond ako sa tradition culture, religion at iba pa. but now i hv freedom to choose at i belive sa plano ng kaligtasan, holy week na i spend my time this coming free day ko mag hiking at iba pa, at missionary work dami dumating na blessing spiritual at temporal basta pay tithing fasting offering, and temple construction, yan ang patotoo ko
masasabi isa ito miracle sa buhay ko na now i believe in christ, grupo ako dati ng da vinci code, anti christ, di ko expect na kinakailangan ko si heavenly father and jesus chirst and holy ghost sa buhay ko, sobra ako na kunsensya talaga, every time i read book of mormons ang scriptures and liahona, power of prayers unti unti ko nakamit ang justice, love, etc, ang drama no, eto ang patotoo ko sa tunay na simbahan,
from the bottom of my heart,
ur sister

| Does anyone have any addresses of the members in San Narciso? I would be very grateful if someone could email me some so I could contact them before I go in March. Does anyone happen to have the address for the Adamos family there? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

My family the Rowley's spent some time in the Phillipiines. Mainly the Malolos, Bulacan area and the San Mateo?Montalban areas. Along the way we met some wonderful American and Filipino missionaries.
Anyone remember us? We would love to get in contact with anyone who knew us and served in our areas. |

I've been back as well to the Philippines. Probably the two most fun things I did was 1) Going to the Taal Volcano and riding horses to the rim. 2) Going to Pagsangjan Falls and being rafted upriver.
Just beware, both your rowers and the guys that rent you the horses will try to rip you off. Pay no more than P500 per horse and tip the rowers no more than P500 each. Even that is pretty darn generous! Even better would be to get a package deal from a travel agency that included transportation and all costs so that you don't have to worry about tipping and all that. |

| I went back in the summer of 2000. I went to Cebu and met up with Fernando Damaolao, Ofelia Fernandez and Alma Abanggan. We all had a blast down there and went to the beach and saw some of the sites around Cebu City. |

Thanks to Chris and Emily Cox for a great reunion! It was fun to see all who were there. Too bad for those of you that didn't come (mainly those of you that served from 97-98!). You missed out on some really good filipino food! And we had a great time with the Garners. Plan on a reunion in 2007 or 2008. Consider it a 10 yr. reunion for those of us that served when the Garners first got there. For those of you outside of Utah, start planning and saving now! I want to see you in 2 yrs!
Thanks again for the great reunion! Ingat kayong lahat. =) |

| Well, two days ago I opened my mission call. I was almost positive I was going to stay in the USA. Then when i read Philippines Olongapo mission, I had such a great feeling of joy. Needless to say, I am really excited. I have enjoyed many of your comments. I have to say I am very curious to what it's going to be like over here..Food, travel, living quarters..I am really anxious to know, but when it comes down to it, it really does not matter. I am ready to serve the Lord, and I am so excited to be preparing to leave July 13th. I look forward to life ahead. |

| The best thing to do is to learn to live like they do over there. Don't worry about rain gear, anything like an umbrella you can get over there. You can get pants tailored over there so you might want to take only a few pairs. Don't worry about handercheifs bring terry washcloths instead. Take some Hydrogen Peroxide for sterilizing drinking water, it won't taste as bad and will work just as well as bleach. You won't have to put it in all your water, just when you are proselyting and someone gives you a drink (they call it a merienda). Dont worry about any special bug sprays or anything like that, you can buy stuff like that over there. Other than that, just stick with the list that you get from the mission president, they base it on years of experience of missionaries before you. If you get to ride any Japanese "Granny Bikes" in any of your areas say hello to them for me. I was the first in the mission to request one instead of a mountain bike : ) |

Hi Dan, I am glad to hear of your mission call. It is a great mission. I know that you have heard those words out of a lot of return missionaries, but believe me, you are one of the luckiest missionaries in the field. It is the only predoninant Christian Asian country. The people are great! The food is great! It is an awesome opportumity to experience life in an exotic awesome place filled with the spirit and joy of missionary work. What could be better.
The key to my successful service, was and is to always be positive. When it is humid, tell yourself you love the humidity, when it rains, enjoy it, smile and be chearful. It is contagious. Your companion will be brought up and you both will be happy.
Well, I know that I could go on and on, but I know that you will be taken care of. There are people that will help every step of the way. And most important of all, follow the Spirit in you preparation.
Make sure that you read your instructions you recieved in your mission packet. Get all that stuff and don't get anything extra. You will be reminded at the MTC and at the Mission Home of what you need and you will be instructed on what to do to make your healthy and safe in the Philippines.
Be obedient and you will be blessed for it. love serving it is a privalige, especially when you were blessed to be called to serve in the best mission in the world.
~Aaron |
