San Narciso 09 Feb 2006
Does anyone have any addresses of the members in San Narciso? I would be very grateful if someone could email me some so I could contact them before I go in March. Does anyone happen to have the address for the Adamos family there? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Rowley Family 15 Jan 2006
My family the Rowley's spent some time in the Phillipiines. Mainly the Malolos, Bulacan area and the San Mateo?Montalban areas. Along the way we met some wonderful American and Filipino missionaries.
Anyone remember us? We would love to get in contact with anyone who knew us and served in our areas.

Going back to Philippines 13 Jan 2006
I've been back as well to the Philippines. Probably the two most fun things I did was 1) Going to the Taal Volcano and riding horses to the rim. 2) Going to Pagsangjan Falls and being rafted upriver.

Just beware, both your rowers and the guys that rent you the horses will try to rip you off. Pay no more than P500 per horse and tip the rowers no more than P500 each. Even that is pretty darn generous! Even better would be to get a package deal from a travel agency that included transportation and all costs so that you don't have to worry about tipping and all that.

Going Back 13 Jan 2006
I went back in the summer of 2000. I went to Cebu and met up with Fernando Damaolao, Ofelia Fernandez and Alma Abanggan. We all had a blast down there and went to the beach and saw some of the sites around Cebu City.

Nasan n kaya yung mga Valiant Missionaries!! 27 Oct 2005
Hello po!I know na maraming nakakakilala sa akin dito. But i just wanna find the two great missionaries na nagturo sa akin ng gospel. And i wanna say a big "thanks" to both of them.Sila and way kung bakit ako nsa simbahan ni Hesukristo.Clint Stephenson and elder fraser.I remember the day na nagkita tayo accidentally sa my neighbor namin. And i was inspired n makaharap kayo at malaman ang gospel ni Jesus Christ.Ngayun,i have to sons na i was married last August 17,2001 @ Philippines Manila Temple. My husband is a returned missionary served @ Philippines Cagayan DeOro Mission he is Elder Espera.More blessings...More sacrifice...More tears...but i am thankful because of the Gospel and The Church of Jesus Christ.Regards kay Daniel Smith and his family.Elder killpack.

Reunion 30 Sep 2005
Thanks to Chris and Emily Cox for a great reunion! It was fun to see all who were there. Too bad for those of you that didn't come (mainly those of you that served from 97-98!). You missed out on some really good filipino food! And we had a great time with the Garners. Plan on a reunion in 2007 or 2008. Consider it a 10 yr. reunion for those of us that served when the Garners first got there. For those of you outside of Utah, start planning and saving now! I want to see you in 2 yrs!

Thanks again for the great reunion! Ingat kayong lahat. =)

wow. 21 May 2005
Well, two days ago I opened my mission call. I was almost positive I was going to stay in the USA. Then when i read Philippines Olongapo mission, I had such a great feeling of joy. Needless to say, I am really excited. I have enjoyed many of your comments. I have to say I am very curious to what it's going to be like over here..Food, travel, living quarters..I am really anxious to know, but when it comes down to it, it really does not matter. I am ready to serve the Lord, and I am so excited to be preparing to leave July 13th. I look forward to life ahead.

RE: Dan - Preparation 08 May 2005
The best thing to do is to learn to live like they do over there. Don't worry about rain gear, anything like an umbrella you can get over there. You can get pants tailored over there so you might want to take only a few pairs. Don't worry about handercheifs bring terry washcloths instead. Take some Hydrogen Peroxide for sterilizing drinking water, it won't taste as bad and will work just as well as bleach. You won't have to put it in all your water, just when you are proselyting and someone gives you a drink (they call it a merienda). Dont worry about any special bug sprays or anything like that, you can buy stuff like that over there. Other than that, just stick with the list that you get from the mission president, they base it on years of experience of missionaries before you. If you get to ride any Japanese "Granny Bikes" in any of your areas say hello to them for me. I was the first in the mission to request one instead of a mountain bike : )

The Best Missoion in the World, no joke 07 May 2005
Hi Dan, I am glad to hear of your mission call. It is a great mission. I know that you have heard those words out of a lot of return missionaries, but believe me, you are one of the luckiest missionaries in the field. It is the only predoninant Christian Asian country. The people are great! The food is great! It is an awesome opportumity to experience life in an exotic awesome place filled with the spirit and joy of missionary work. What could be better.
The key to my successful service, was and is to always be positive. When it is humid, tell yourself you love the humidity, when it rains, enjoy it, smile and be chearful. It is contagious. Your companion will be brought up and you both will be happy.
Well, I know that I could go on and on, but I know that you will be taken care of. There are people that will help every step of the way. And most important of all, follow the Spirit in you preparation.
Make sure that you read your instructions you recieved in your mission packet. Get all that stuff and don't get anything extra. You will be reminded at the MTC and at the Mission Home of what you need and you will be instructed on what to do to make your healthy and safe in the Philippines.
Be obedient and you will be blessed for it. love serving it is a privalige, especially when you were blessed to be called to serve in the best mission in the world.

Best of Luck 06 May 2005
What are you in for? Well, expect to have your life changed forever. Spiritually, a mission is a pleasant but intense boot camp. Your testimony and feelings about the Savior will be changed forever. Living in the Philippines and knowing the wonderful people who live there will also change your life forever. Prepare to have your heart touched by kindness and generosity from virtual strangers who have next to nothing. Work hard -- you will absolutely relish your mission experiences years from now when you tell your kids stories about tropical storms, BBQ-ed chicken feet, boiling your water and baptisms in the ocean.
