Libagon
Little is known about the origin of this town. It seems that Libagon was originally called "Lipton" after a brook found on the heart of the poblacion.
Libagon is a southern town covering an area of 9,600 hectares. Two hundred hectares are planted with rice yielding around 12,000 cavans per year. Among the other products of this town are corn and camote.
This town was created by Executive Order No. 12 in 1912. Her nine barrios are: Gacat. Nahulid, Otican, Tigbao, Talisay, Jubas, Cawayan, Mayuga and Magcasag.
There are approximately twenty-one commercial establishments. The lack of a public market is one of the problems that confront the town. Also, it is one of the few towns that does not have any school buildings.
During heavy rains, the four rivers of Libagon namely, Nahulid, Tagbao, Mayuga, and Cawayan overflow hence the problem of floods.
