I just uploaded a couple pictures of Presidente Nieves from the June 13 mission reunion. These pictures had to be compressed in order for the site to allow me to post them. If you would like the large version (for printing or developing) e-mail me and I will send you the large file (about 800 kb per picture). These are high enough resolution that 8x10 still looks good. I also have a couple video clips from the reunion but they are large, 30mb+. If you would be intersted in them I am going to try to find a sight that I can host them on and you could download them and see and hear Presidente Nieves if you were not able to make the reunion.

I am trying to contact Jason Smith. He is on the site but has no contact information. If any of you have information that would be of assistance I would appreciate it.

I wish I could go to the reunion on June 13th. It would be great to see you all. I will not be in Utah until July so I will miss it. Hope everyone has fun and I am jealous that you all get to go!! Take care.

If there is going to be a reunion, I would love to see everyone again. I live in Idaho, but I would come down if there is a reunion.

I just found out that Presidente Nieves will be in Utah during the first two weeks of June. If anyone is interested in putting together a reunion or fireside of some sort please let me know. I will not be able to be in charge of putting together a reunion, but if anyone is interested in getting one organized let me know and I can give you the details.

If anyone knows of an Elder Jon Lee that served here in Puerto Rico 2001, please contact me at [the send email link below].
She's looking for him because he baptised her and her family and she'd like to write him. Thank you. And keep praying for all of us here in the PR.

I just wanted to add one more thing before I stop clogging up the message board with my drivel. I went back to the island during the first part of May. I tell you I felt like an oppressed Iraqi fianlly allowed to return to Mecca after years of political imprisionment. For any doubters a return to the island will show that having the oportunity to serve in P.R. is proof positive that you were more valiant in the pre-existance than all the rest of the poor buckers in the world that think they had a decent mission.

To any who might be interested I and my wife had the priveledge of taking Pres. and Hna. out to "seeslers" (Sizzlers) and watching Pres. throw down a big a porterhouse steak. Needless to say they are doing great.

I found the mission address under the menu to the right labeled "Mission Info." What a novel idea!

|
As I recall my trainer (the wise Steve Hardman) told me that "chuck" refered to a missionary who was skilled at stylish wasting of time (i.e. not building the kingdom). The origin was "reputedly" an underground newsletter called The Chuck Wagon (during the time of Farnsworth--it's always the former mission president, right?) where missionaries bragged about their time wasting feats! Is there any truth to this, you ask? Not likely (given the urban ledgends of missionaries) . . . maybe someone from the Farnsworth era can enlighten us.
As for "buck" I don't know the origin of the word, but it was used to refer to stray dogs (aka buck dogs) or missionaries who liked to waste time, but were not as stylish or skilled at it as the "chuck" missionary. This is only MY understanding of missionary jargon and how it was used in my era--NOT my passing judement on anyone.
I am headed back to PR this week (May 25-31) with my wife and I am psyched! I came accross this site as I was looking for the mission home address and phone number. Can anyone help me out with these?
