well after 24 years I am taking my son and my parents back to Puerto Rico. I am sure things have changed, but I still would like to know if Margie still lives in Isabela. Her daughters lived with her and one of the daughters was named Debbie.
If any of you know her, could you let me know if they are still around. Reggie her husband passed away in 1983 or 84...

I am working on making a trip to PR in March. I want to visit my old areas. Does anyone have a name of a travel agent /emai. address that could help me book some hotels on the island? I don't want to stay on the Condado, but maybe som pleace like Cayey, Mayaguez, Yauco... Of course, Vieques for a day or 2.

My wife and I just returned from PR and it was well worth going back to visit. Been home from the mission for nearly 19 years and this was the first time I went back. I'd recommend a return trip for all of you.
It was a perfect balance of visiting with friends and site seeing.
Can't believe how much the island has changed. 20 years ago once you left the San Juan area the rest of the island was fairly uncrowded. This is not the case anymore. When did Walmart come to PR? One thing that didn't change was how much food the members feed you.
I went to church in Guayama and it was a great experience. In order I served in Mayaguez, Aguas Buenas, Bayamon (two different parts), Morovis, Ponce, Mayaguez and then Guayama.
It was sad to see/hear of those who are no longer active in the church, but on the reverse side very nice to see a few of the families I baptized still active and sealed in the temple.
My wife had such a good experience that she is already planning a return trip and this time with the kids.

Yup, there was a story on this on some entertainment weekly type show recently on how this is the first time a latin novella was spun into a gringo show.

For those of you that served during the same time I did, you are extremely familar with this excuse of not being able to hear the discussions. I saw a preview for a new show on ABC this year titled "Ugly Betty". Does anyone know if this an english take on the same show? It's very similar in the story.

For those who haven't heard, Elder Jeff Allgood's little boy died Wednesday at Primary Childrens Hospital. They are looking into the possibilities of it being from the E-coli outbreak. Our sypathies and love go out to the family.

I just had a chat with Don Nieves.
Since they just moved to a new home in Florida, they won't be able to visit Utah next month (June). Unfortunately, the reunion will have to be postponed.
Following post-mission-president protocol, his network will be alerted when he has new plans for visiting Utah.

Has anyone heard anything more about the mission reunion with Pres. Nieves that is scheduled for June 16? Apparently there is a committee? I would love more information so I (and my friends/comps) can make plans accordingly since some live out of state.
