Mango Pina 01 Nov 2003
From what I remember, the "Mango pina" is a certain variety of large mango. In much the same way that we have different varieties of apple, the same is true of mangos and other fruit. I suppose if you asked for a Macintosh apple or a Granny Smith apple in Puerto Rico, you would get a similar response. Really, it is a question of importance to the culture. If I remember right, the vaqueros of Argentina have over 200 words to describe the color of their horses.

I hope this helps.

Mango Pina 01 Nov 2003
Does anyone remember this particular kind of fruit from the mission? I remember it tasted great, but I can't find one anywhere (I'm from Washington D.C. and currently live in Hawaii). I thought I could grow one out here, but does anyone know where to find one. Whenever I ask about the mango pina, the fruit vendors have always told me they have no idea what I am talking about.

Thanks!

Ron

Edgeworth, I believe you. I remember seeing pictures from someone who served in Morovis. Don't lose the faith! The proof is out there.

Hey, does anyone know where I can get Fiel a la Vega merchandise? I love those guys and have all their CDs, but I want a T-shirt or a car window sticker or something like that.

PR vacation location ideas 01 Oct 2003
Hey guys! I am planning on going to PR in Jan. '04 and am trying to figure out the best places to stay. Unfortunately, I am not too sure since the mission isn't really about the tourist attractions. Anyone who has served in an area they think would be nice to stay in, please send me an email. I am interested in all info, but particularly in the caribbean (south) side or somewhere close to a great beach. Also, any "must see" places you can think of would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, y que Dios les bendiga!
