I am a palagi, married to a Samoan, living in Lakeland, Florida. There is
a Bishop Schwenke who lives in Orlando, Florida, area. His wife and
sister-in-law work at the Orlando temple. His sister-in-law, I believe, is
employed there in the area where phones are answered. I can't think of her
name right now, but perhaps if you telephoned the Orlando temple - she
wears a nametag which states "I don't speak Spanish," or something like
that. Maybe you could say something like, "I'm trying to get in touch with
the Samoan sister who works at your temple, who has a brother-in-law named
Bishop Schwenke. I'm trying to do some family research, and believe he may
be able to help me." Good luck!

Malo lava le soifua maua i uso ma tuafaine! O se talosaga lea mo se fesoasoani ua valaau atu. I proposed and was accepted for a grant supported study studying parenting styles in Samoa and adolescent behaviors attempting to understand more fully why suicide rates in Samoa have had a tendency to be so high. However, I am running on a very tight timeframe and need to translate all of the materials I will be using down there. If any one is sufficently fluent in both English and Samoan or knows someone who could be of assistance I would greatly appreciate any help I can get!! I need these items translated ASAP. If you can help, please email me! If your interested in the study, feel free to email me as well! Faafetai mo soo se fesoasoani e mafai ona e tuuina mai, faamoemoe oloo manuia tatou uma i le alofa le uma a Le Alii.

Looking through the missionary pictures, I have some so similiar of Pres.
and Sister Kimball in Samoa in 1976--What a great time that was. Also, I
saw a missionary pic of Oct 1995, looks like my son Josh Manu at the left
front of that photo--anyone know for sure? Would like copy with names of
all in the pic. Fa'afetai Connie
