Pa'ü le popo 27 Apr 2005
I could have used a little more of that divine intervention James Ah Mu mentioned regarding the falling coconut in Leone: Elder Randy "Lama" Bott and I were walking through a coconut grove near Fitiuta, Manu'a in 1965, when I suddenly felt this intense shock to my whole body . . . and slowly sagged to my knees. In my peripheral vision I noticed a large coconut bouncing into the bush, but right in front of me was my soa, who soon started to laugh. Yup, I had been hit square on top of the head by the falling "popo" -- but perhaps that it was already brown is where the intervention came in, plus the fact that I quickly regained my feet and we continued on our way to Ta'u.
