| Elder/Sister Bean in Bintulu wrote this story detailing the Bintulu branches temple trip:
On June 27th 2005, after more than a year of planning, six
families and four missionary couples from the three
Bintulu, Sarawak Branches boarded a Malaysian airline flight
for the Manila Temple. The trip required a stop over
in Kota Kinabalu where the Bintulu Saints attended
Sacrament Meeting in KK and met Elder Wong's Mother
and brother who were sacrament meeting speakers.
They arrived in Manila on Sunday evening with some
time to do a little sight seeing on Monday.
Early Tuesday morning the six families began their
temple experience in earnest. Thirteen adults were
endowed. Six couples were sealed for time and eternity
and their children were sealed to them. On Wednesday
the teenage children performed baptisms for the dead
including some deceased ancestors and endowments and
sealings for ancestors were performed by the adults.
All of the adults attending the temple were also able
to perform temple file endowments.
The group met other members from the Philippines and
developed friendships with members from another part
of Asia. The group left for home on Friday and arrived
back in Bintulu on Saturday afternoon filled with joy
and a new found love for the temple.
All of them thank President Larkins for his support,
the Bintulu couples, the Area Presidency and the many
people who contributed to the Temple Patron fund to
make their endowments and sealings possible. |
