Ground Breaking in Slovenia!! 09 Oct 2006
I just received an email from an Elder that is currently serving in Slovenia. He said that on Saturday, 10/9/06, there will be a ground breaking ceremony in Ljubljana for the new chapel. Here is what he wrote:

New Chapel!!!!!
This Saturday we are going to have the groundbreaking ceremony for the new meeting house! We just now have all rented space in all the cities and we finally after years got approved to start building!!!! YES! I'm so excited for it! It’s going to be Saturday for about 45 min. then we're all heading back to the church for a baptism! :) It’s going to be a wonderful day!

I know many of us have dreamt and heard a lot about a chapel being built and what an impact it will have on the church, as well as the members, to have a place to call their own. I will pass on any more information (i.e. location, time frame, and anything else I can get or if there are more cities that will receive a chapel) and hopefully some pictures in the next week or two. Keep the members and the missionary work in your prayers, because we all know how things as big as this sometimes fall apart over there.

Talk to you all soon.

And a big thanks to Jared Roper, for whatever he does to keep it running.

The Hubbards 30 May 2006
zdravo vsem, ki to sporocilo berejo.

I'm looking for a current email address for the Hubbards, and was wondering if anyone out there might know it. Also, for anyone listening, I'm looking for a way to contact former elders Jensen and Wettstein. I'll take whatever I can get, though.

Lep pozdrav. Sem zelo zelo skupaj.

Details about Kresimir Cosic Event 13 Feb 2006
As previously mentioned on this website, Kresimir Cosic will be honored by the BYU Athletic Department on March 4th. There are several functions of this event, and some of the events are invitation only. I have spoken personally with one of the Associate Athletic Directors at BYU and expressed my desire to host an event for the missionaries of Former-Yugoslavia in correlation with this important night. He has agreed to sponsor this activity following the BYU-New Mexico game on March 4th.

So, what do you need to do? First, get the word out to all those who might be interested. Second, buy tickets to the game so you can see the half-time presentation and attend the reception after the game. Third, PLEASE email me if you are thinking about going and include the number in your party. This is really important! I need to get a guesstimate back to the Athletic Department who has so graciously offered to host this event.

My email is wdanley@hotmail.com. This will also allow me to create an email group so that I can communicate any further details about the event.

I had the chance to meet Brother Cosic while I was a missionary, and I guarantee that my mission would have been much different had he not paved the way for the gospel to be taught in Croatia. A BYU official told me that they have heard from people all over the world who wanted to take part in this night, so I consider it a big deal that they agreed to host this for us. Please come pay tribute to this phenomenal brother and his wife and children. It will also be a great time to see some folks we may not have seen in a while.

If you have any questions, please email me. Again, I’ll provide more information about the exact location of the reception as we get closer to March 4th.

Best Wishes,

Wendy (Danley) Davis, Croatia and Serbia (1992-1994)

Hold the date March 4, 2006! 09 Feb 2006
Thanks, Gunnell, for posting the info on Cosic. A get-together for ALL missionaries who served in former Yugoslavia is being planned in conjunction with this event, so spread the word and save the date! More details will be posted here.

Cosic to be honored 22 Jan 2006
I have been pushing for this for over a year now, and finally someone agreed.

On March 4th at the BYU-New Mexico game at the Marriott Center, BYU will be retiring Kresmir Cosic's jersey and hanging it from the rafters. They will also be having a half-time special on him...just thought some of you might be interested.
