U.S. Sources for South African Foods

Cape Dutch Bakery

Recommended by alumni David Barkdull and Chet Fullmer, Cape Dutch Bakery sells a variety of baked goods, prepared foods (including wors and biltong) and hard-to-find groceries. You'll find that they have most of the items on their rather extensive price list in stock. Although they're located in Maryland, they do offer overnight shipping for fresh items.

Nandos

Suggested by alumnus Dan Smith, Nandos is the well-known manufacturer of Peri Peri and many other fine sauces. The Nandos web site includes an online store, cooking resources, store locator, and information on becoming a dealer.

World Market

While their on-line store doesn't seem to offer South African foods, alumnus Tom Terry reports that World Market (a.k.a. Cost Plus) retail stores carry South African foods such as Mrs. Balls Chutney (both regular and sterk) Nando's sauces, Mrs. Oma's rusks and various Cadbury's chocolates. Visit their web site to find a retail outlet near you.
