[Humor] Elder 30 Sep 2004
I was labouring in Germiston on the20 th of August 1957. Our supervising Elder came out for the afternoon and we split up for tracting. I went out with the SE's companion Elder Grant Wood of Cardston. It was a typical day , lots of walking and knocking on doors and no body interested. We knocked on one door and the lady came to the door and we spoke to her for a few minutes and tried to set up a cottage meeting for the evening when her husband would be home. She explained that she was getting ready for her birthday party that evening. To which Elder Wood exclaimed, "Why it is my birthday too!" My quick response was, "Why, it is my birthday as well!!" We never met the lady again, as I was transferred to Northern Rhodesia soon after, but I often wonder whether she believed us or not, or perhaps she thought that we were a couple of clowns.
