In 1998, I returned to visit my mission areas and other parts of the country. More recently, I returned again to Spain (Oct 2012). Both visits were wonderful! I got to connect with members I knew from my time as a missionary as well as with new friends we have made that live in Spain.
While my husband and I served in the California Long Beach Mission (2007-10), one of our missionaries was from Chiclana (near Cadiz). We got to visit him in his home and spend time with his family. This very family took care of feeding OUR son who served in the Spain Malaga Mission BEFORE they knew that their son would be called to serve in our mission! What a small world!
Another great experience we had this trip was to go to the Madrid Temple for the first time. What a dream come true that Spain has a temple now. Another dream come true is to see how the Church has grown since my mission there. We attended Church in Chiclana on a fast Sunday and it was such a privilege to hear all of the testimonies and see the strength of the members. |
