Soeur Menke, I don't know if I ever met you but I was companions with Diane Middleton too. She married a man named Scott Ogilvie and lives in Farmington, Utah. She has a daughter who is about 10 or so and a little boy who is only 3 or 4. I'll get her address for you. Feel free to e-mail me directly.

If you do a search on "Jean-Pierre Jeannin" on www.google.com, 2 listings come up that might be him. One is for a man working as a press attache for the French embassy in Nigeria, the other is a man in the city of Montenois. You might also try the french phone directory on www.infospace.com. I found 4 of them by that name in the area around Besancon. And one with that family name (but not the prenom) from the area of Bourg. Also, as another person posted on this site, you can make a request thru the Church (ask your bishop) and they will forward a letter to him for you. If he ever went to BYU you can also call BYU Alumni House 800-437-4663, ask for records, and they will give you his address. (I'm not sure if they will do this for you if you didn't also go to BYU. If not, let me know and I will ask them for you.)

You might try writing a letter to the Church Membership Department giving them his name and approximate age. They will forward your request to him and then it will be up to him to answer your letter.

Back in 1973 I was Elder Capenar's first junior companion in Besancon. Does anyone know where Chris Capenar is today? Thanks.

I would like to find two Sisters who served in 1977/78 - Soeur Jane Ann Kemp and Soeur Diane MIddleton. If anyone has an address or e-mail address, I would love to get back in touch with them.
Thanks,
Eva (Menke) Nolan

I think those bikes were probably the ones that ended up Aix-Les-Bains, and then Chambery. I rode some crappy bike that was in the cave in Aix (1996). It was fun! That was just to save on "miles" when we weren't cruising around in Chewy, our Opal Corsa. Elder Bjorn, I think your bike is now on the balcany in Chambery. I was just there this summer and visited the Elders and my old appartment... and all of the bikes and other junk piled on the balcany! Unsightly is all I have to say! Anyway, I think that is the fate of a bike in the mission, if it is not stolen.

I concur with Danny Mac- I rode bikes in exactly ONE -ville. This was in Annemasse, and we just bought some old bikes the mission home had for CHF 5.00, then left them there when transferred out. They're probably still there... I definitely would NOT bring a bike. Save your money, you can get everywhere via subway / bus / train / foot.

I don't know why I'm responding here, seeing as it has been YEARS since leaving my mission...but I was there a year or so ago and little had changed: office elders, some at least, drove. I could have used a bike in possibly ONE city. There were some old ones in the storage space for the apartment and we used those once or twice, though mainly for the sheer joy of it. They have bikes in Europe, really they do. If you just have to have one, get a cheapy over there.

For the imput. I know I will find out sooner or later, and do not plan on shipping one there, I was just curious. Another question, do you ever drive there??

I just called to the mission, I enter the MTC on May 12th. I am just wondering on if I needed a bike or not. I am just curious. I have recieved all my information, and no where did it state if I needed, or did not need one. Just a simple little question, and feel free to give me any other pointers, or comments about the mission.
