Comments: We have never made it to a reunion but with my husband's retirement from the military and settling back in the 'lower 48' from Alaska, we hope to attend the next. Our youngest daughter (of 7 children) is currently serving her Salt Lake Temple Square Mission outbound rotation in the California San Diego mission where one of her older sisters also served. Baptisms and investigators for that matter were few during my mission. I did though make acquaintance with a Bro in Zurich who was a genealogist. He helped me find my grandparents and great grandparents' records in Appenzell and Zug and started me on a journey of 10 generations. Much of this was done when one or other of my companions was ill and we couldn't tract. I have come to realize in intervening years that I was called to Switzerland more for the dead than for the living and have been serving in that capacity ever since. BTW, I arrived the day Pres Worlton had to fly back to the states for surgery. I didn't meet him until his temporary replacement, Pres Russon and his wife had served some months until he could come back in better condition. Pres Worlton then finished and Pres Bischoff was there until I went home. |
