Although I do not remember the name, I remember how to get there.
Heading south from Graubünden you can go up to the ski resort; about 30 south up the canyon wall. IF you pay the handsome fee of about 60$ you can take the lift up to one of the beautiful spots in Switzerland. You can see all the way to France on a clear day. I suggest going there and then to the Heidi House. If you have any questions about the Heidi house then just ask the locals. They can point you the way. The Heidi house has plenty of sights to see and trails. There is even a gift shop in town where people are always ready to talk to the Americans. If you hit Appenzel on the way out you might be able to see some calibrations in the afternoon. I remember going through there in that order. Graubünden Heidi house and then Appenzel. Took about 10 hours and was wonderful. I went through about the same month you are going so you should be able to see some really neat memorable sites, and Appenzel traditional dress.

All I remember having done when I visited Appenzel is asking a cheese merchant for their stinkiest cheese, which was pretty good. Enjoy your trip!

In March 2007 I will be travelling to Switzerland with my 16 year old daughter. I have spent much time in Zurich, Bern, Luzern over the years, but know very little about eastern Switzerland. I am planning to spend a few days in the Graubunden/Appenzel areas. Does anyone have recommendations of places to stay, sights to see, etc. I would like to show her some of the small village aspects of the beautiful nation of Switzerland. I look forward to hearing ideas. Thanks.

Although not as current as it could be, the last time I saw Mami in Olten was in April 2001. I visited the area after my mission, and she was as great as ever! She was still doing as much as possible for the missionaries, and treated me like I was still one of them. We wrote a couple times after that, but I haven't heard anything from her since.
My husband and I will be visiting Switzerland in June. I will look her up and see what I can find out.

Does anybody remember eating at Mommy's in Olten (I think her last name was Angliker)? She made the best homemade soup. Or did anybody who served in the Wollerau area (Gemeinde Waedenswil) remember visiting Rudy, the drunk Austrian? Just curious if anybody has any info on them after 1997. Or from before then would also be interesting.

Does anyone have information about a member, David Ruetz? A gifted pianist, he was my accompanist during 1986 at various events, including a recital we gave in Winterthur.

I was just wondering if anyone knew the Staehli's in gemeinde Thun or the Hendersons in Luzern (I think)and if they had heard anything about them latley. They were just two of my favorite families and was wondering how they were doing.

"This message is for anyone who has served recently in Zurich."
What's recent? I was there 86-88 and feel like that's recent. But then again, I don't feel much older than when I came home.

This message is for anyone who has served recently in Zurich. I would like to get caught up on the members there, if possible. If you wouldn't mind, you can send an e-mail to me through this website by going to my profile. If you'd email me, I'd like to ask you some questions -- Thanks!!!
