I initially served with Glen Pierson in Paea, Then James Roberts in Taenga, Makemo, and Nihiru. I then served with Samuel D. Richards and Glen Pierson in Raiatea where Aramona and I opened up Vaiaau. I went to Tahaa and Huahine with Scott Cox and then with Brian Oliver on Huahine. I served with George Baker in Paea and then Mapuhi Teangai and I went to Taenga and Makemo Tuamotus. My last companiion was Lynn Hutchings on Huahine.
I only lasted 16 months before I met and married my eternal sweetheart and companion, Sondra Rasmussen.I studied electronics at Weber State before I got married then we set up house at BYU and got my BS in Industrial Technology and teacher Educatioin. My first teaching position was in Garden Grove, CA that only lasted a year. I hired on with IBM as a customer Engineer and serviced IBM 360 computers for four years, I taught in their education Center for a year and then returned to BYU for more education. I took a position with the School of Pharmacy at the University of Wyoming in Laramie as a Media Specialist and was there 5 years before having to move back to Utah for the health of my children. We had 6 by then, 4 boys and two girls. After a couple more years of BYU and working I obtained a position with Sevier Valley Tech in Richfield, Utah as a Library and Media Specialist. I earned a MSEd in Instructional Technology from Utah State. I retired as Library Director in 2001. We raised 8 children, 6 boys and 2 girls who all graduated from Richfield High School. All have made their homes in Utah except for one son who is in Rexburg, ID. We have 33 grandchildren and love them all. We served a CES Mission in Bloomington, Indiana December 2009 and returned home to Richfield in July 2011. We loved it.
I truly enjoyed my mission in French Polynesia. We have made a couple of trips to Hawaii where we have met and renewed friendships with people I knew in the mission field. I think about them often.
