I just wanted to post a note to those who perhaps have not yet heard the news that President Joseph Childers passed away a week ago and the funeral was Friday, March 23, 2007. He served as a young missionary in Tahiti, then as Mission President and later on was set apart as the first Temple President in Tahiti. Throughout all of his service as mission and temple president he was with his wife and companion Doris. Those of us who were his missionaries loved President and Sister Childers. We will miss Joe. For me he was both my mission president and my mentor. We look forward to seeing Doris again at the missionary reunion and many others to come. |
