Comments:
After I returned from Taiwan in April 1977, I attended BYU. Then I came to NPR, and have been here ever since March 1, 1982. I'm the Technical Director for "Morning Edition" through most of 2007.

In the Church, I've been a home teacher, stake missionary (before Taiwan), ward mission leader, Elder's Quorum 2nd counselor, Gospel Doctrine teacher, family history specialist and genealogy teacher, stake assistant librarian, ward membership, then historical, financial and unadjectived ward clerk. I've returned to being ward membership clerk after a brief stint as financial clerk in our "new" ward that's now on our second bishop.

In my copious spare time, I 'm on regional paramedic call two afternoons per week. I also walk through fields and forests with a regional search-and-rescue organization, and pretend that I'm a communications specialist.

My mom died quite unexpectedly the Sunday before Mother's Day, and I'm still in denial.
