Jon Nephi Vawdrey, 65, Sandy 26th Ward, Sandy Utah Crescent Ridge Stake; called as president of the Taipei Taiwan Temple; succeeding President Thomas P. Nielson. President Vawdrey's wife, LeAnn Cagle Vawdrey, will serve as temple matron. President Vawdrey is a former temple worker, stake patriarch, high councilor and bishop. He was a locksmith. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Elden Crapo and Evelyn May Sanders Vawdrey. Sister Vawdrey is a former stake Primary president, stake and ward Relief Society secretary, Young Women president and Relief Society teacher.
