Stories: After 20+ years

| It was some twenty years ago in a Mission Conference (if my memory serves me right) that we were told to change the way we were praying concerning finding people to teach. We were promised that if we asked our Heavenly Father for the pure in heart to find us that we would have better success with baptisms and retention. Brothers and Sisters I am here to testify to you that this still works after twenty years. Currently I am in Italy serving as a Branch Mission Leader for a military branch and the last couple of months the LORD as heard my prayers. Shortly after being set apart as Branch Mission Leader I met with the Elders and I told them about what I had learned those many years ago that if we would pray for the pure in heart to find us then they will, but I added that this isn't enough we need to be specific and ask our Heavenly Father to send us those that are ready for baptism and to recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost and to be converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We agreed that we would fast one day and then at 10:30 pm every night for one week kneel down and pray specifically for this. To make a long testimony short 4 people have been baptized and confirmed and are to still doing good just in the short time that I have been called as Branch Mission Leader. I, like Ammon, don't boast of my self, "I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak... but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things" (Alma 26:12). I testify that after twenty years the pray for success stills works because God is in control of this GREAT and MARVELOUS WORK among the children of men. |

| LDS QUOTE: |
|
"You are a great army of returned missionaries. Go forward with new zeal and determination, and through your example shine the light of the gospel in this troubled world. This is the Lord's work in which we are engaged. God lives. Jesus is the Christ. We belong to His Church. This is my witness to you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
