I did not know Randy, But he served in the Bangkok Thailand mission and I thought some of you may. Here is his Obituary......
Randall Dean Austin
1960 ~ 2006
Randall Dean Austin, of Chadron, Nebraska, died peacefully at his sister's home in Salt Lake City on December 12, 2006, of causes related to cancer.
Randy was born May 30, 1960 in Seattle, Washington. He was raised there and in Provo, Utah, and graduated from Provo High School. Randy served an LDS mission to Thailand. He has been a beloved history professor for 10 years, most recently at Chadron State College in Nebraska. He was awarded the Professor of the Year three times during his career. He also served as a political commentator for Wichita TV stations. Randy was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in leadership positions in Alamo, TN; Wichita, KS; and Chadron, NE.
Randy's love for travel led him to nearly every continent, motivated by his thirst for historical knowledge and cultural awareness. Never one to sit still, he had a desire to see everything and do everything.
Randy loved his family and was known as the "favorite Uncle Randy."

I'm returning to Thailand for the first time in three years and would love to see Sister Bia (in Ayutthaya) and Sister Wilay whom I believe moved to Khon Kean from Roi Et? Does anyone know the contact info for either of these sisters? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The celebration commemorating 40 years of the Church in Thailand was a fabulous experience. (20-21 October 2006)
I would like to thank the Bangkok Stake leadership and members for being such excellent hosts and for putting on such a tremendous event.
The experience was both powerful and humbling.
I can’t wait for 2016 for the 50th!

Does anyone happen to know about how many sister missionaries are currently serving in Thailand? I get asked that a lot, and I'm not exactly sure how to go about finding an answer. Maybe one of you could help?

Does anyone know the status of new missionaries getting their visas to go into Thailand. I know a young man who did not get his and since my son is at the MTC going to Thailand in December 2006, I was wondering if he would most likely get his. Don Ward

Hello All, I am going to be serving in Thailand pretty soon. I enter the MTC on Nov. 15th and I have a couple ?'s. How long does it usually take for a letter to get from the US to Thailand and visa versa? My mom is really worried about me getting contact solution in Thailand. I've heard there are little shops for everything in Thailand so I'm assuming there will be a shop that has contact solution. My mom wants me to keep posting ?'s as they come and I will gratefully accept anyone's comments on things i should know or things you wish you had known before you got there or something that's important to take. Thanx!
