Hi there,
I discovered by accident. But since I have found it, I am very impressed by it. I am from New Zealand, the very small country next to Australia. And no, we don't wear grass skirts as lots of people think. I am half Tongan and half Niuean. Dad is part Tongan, Nuiean and Norwegian (though you can't tell), and mum is Nuiean.
I work for a children's publishing company as an assistant editor, and I would really like to hear from people who write stories for early preschool to high school students. And illustrators too, especially if you like drawing people.
Most of the books we published for our sector is published in Tongan, Nuiean, Samoan, Tokelauan and Cook Islands. We are always on the look out for new stories, and illustrators.

Hi! I just wanted you to know that I finally have my site up at http://tongahotel.com for Helen's Apartments. They are named after little Helen, who is my 5 year old daughter. She is the one in the picture by the pool.
Thanks,

I served under the directions of Pres Hopoate. He is a great man and even up to now he's still standing tall in carrying the Lord's work on his shoulders. My gratitude to all missionaries of my time. The missionary rules have changed a great deal since then but I'm thankful for the opportunity to serve under Pres Pita Hopoate's. I'm still a member and very active working with young women in my ward.
Keep up with this site and invite more RM to enjoy each other's special moments from the field.
Ofa atu,
Me:) |

In 1955 my parents (President Fred W. Stone & Sister Sylvia Rider Stone) were called to preside over the Tongan Mission. I was fortunate to go with them where I was called to a CES Mission to teach school at Liahona & Ha'alaufuli, Vava'u. I have several photos that I would like to share. Perhaps, a website could be developed someday soon. I also have photos from my father's first mission to Tonga in the late 1920's. Feel free to contact me any time. I have a long list of email address of Tongans and friends of Tonga. I would love to include yours. Oh yes, it was my father that told Kolipoki to do his reports In "The Other Side of Heaven". What a great movie. I've seen it five times, so far.

Hope everyone is well. I continue to work with my Tongan brothers and sisters. I have been in the military since 1984 and everywhere I have been stationed or live, I have been called to serve "my people". Last night I was reading the Ensign and read a story about my mission president - Pita Hopoate. Read it if you all get the chance. Keep up the great work. Stay close to the Lord. Attend the temple. And Love each other. |

As far as the web site is concerned it is maintained by a "Palangi" I am in the process of getting some help to place the site in Tongan as well. I maintain the site out of respect to my wife who served in Tonga, and is of Tongan Descent. I hope that soon both the "Palangi" and "Fakatonga" can be used on this site.
Thanks to all those who have visited |
