For the past few months, I have been emailing essays from my book, Surrendering to Christ. These emails have gone to friends around the world.
One morning at work, I got a reply from Angela that simply said, "I don' t know you, but thank you."
I had accidentally emailed an essay to a co-worker several states away in Iowa. I have never met her nor had any interaction with her before. I have a friend named Angela with a similar last name...
We began emailing and talking about Christ and Christianity. She has a very strong testimony of Him and can testify with power!
Two weeks ago, I invited her to receive the "Finding Faith in Christ" video. She accepted!
Last night, a Sister from the Square called me and said Angela has accepted the invitation to have missionaries visit her.
I am amazed to know the intimate involvement Christ has in this, His work. He guides it in ways that we never could.
This is all a direct result of the sisters planting the seed in my heart - and for that, I am eternally grateful!

Hello Sisters!
I just wanted to post a little note to say how thrilling it was to see Pres. Snow speak at conference! He is an amazing man and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to serve with him and Sister Snow.

The book, "Surrendering to Christ" is finished - or at least the first draft. I could use your prayers through the editing process and that I can find a good LDS publisher.
If you'd like updates, please let me know!
Love you all -
James

I just picked up the book, "Angels on Temple Square" I can't tell you how many times I cried. You all - all of you - are Angels!
The book brought back many memories of my own conversion, and the Spirit burned inside me reading about your own conversion stories and the miracles that happened because of your willingness to follow Christ.
I pray for you all -
And for you sisters who are getting called to Temple Square, are there now, or have been released, never forget this one thing:
Heavenly Father sent you -
YOU
because He knows you and He has prepared someone that will respond to you, your companion and your testimony. There are no accidents in the work of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
It's all part of the plan.
If anyone wants to reach me while you're in town, please email me.
I love you all!

To all Temple Square Sisters who served under the leadership of President and Sister Crouch!!
The joyous news you have all been waiting to hear is that we have a reunion! It will be on Saturday 1st October 2005 in the year of our Lord, from 1900 hours until 2200 hours(7:00pm - 10:00pm in case that confused anyone). Those astute amongst you will know that this is during Priesthood session, but will also run afterwards so any significant others can join us at that point. It will be held in the upstairs of the Lion House (primarily so we can re-enact 'Pioneers in Petticoats') I'm joking, please still come.
Spread the word abroad my good friends. See you then. Any questions, just email me.
Thank you kindly.

Hi, sisters & elders,
For those of you who served under President Crouch and who don't know yet, Laura Vasilescu & Melinda Skea have created an e-mail listserv wherein you can send in your info and read the postings of other alumni with whom you served. Just send your info (e-mail address, work, family life, if applicable, etc.) to crouchscloset@gmail.com. Please pass this along to other former missionaries you have the e-mail addresses for so that they can join the list and get the newsletters, too. It's been great to see the great things happening in everyone's lives postmission, as hard as it is to be away from Temple Square. Thanks.

Hello fellow sisters, we moved to Germany 6 months ago and will most likely be living in Europe for 10 years. We've done some travelling but let me know where you live so I can drop by some time. Hey or you can come stay with me, if you're ever passing through Germany. We live near a town called Baumholder about an hour and half SW of Frankfurt.

Of course I proposed at Temple Square - in the Rotunda, in front of the Cristus Statue... I tricked her into thinking I just wanted some friends to take some pictures of us and then, I got down on one knee and asked the question I've been wanting to ask for weeks.
I did it and she said yes!
Stay tuned!

When we started our Book of Mormon Study Group a few weeks ago, I was hesitant to hold it at such a public place as Denny's. Too "open". I wanted to hold it at my house, instead.
That never worked out.
There has been one waitress there, Hannah, who has been really nice to us. Most of the times, she's been our server.
Two weeks ago, she told me that before she gets married (she's about 20), she wants to "serve a mission of some kind". Last week, after the rest of the group left, she told me it was "really cool" what we were doing.
Earlier this week, I felt a very strong impression that we needed to give her a Book of Mormon. I asked my sister missionary friends on Temple Square to pray for her - that her heart would be softened - more than it already was. Her name was put in two temples that I know of.
Last night, only one other was able to make it - and we didn't really discuss the BoM, but when I had a couple of minutes alone with her, I gave Hannah her Book of Mormon.
I couldn't have written a better script.
She was actually excited! She told me that when the group had been discussing earlier, she would purposefully come clean near our table so she could listen in. She wants to ask for one or more Thursdays off so she can join us.
The most surprising thing for me, though, was when I asked if I could have the Temple Square sister missionaries call her. Hannah gave me kind of a funny look and told me:
"Some sister missionaries stopped by my place awhile ago, and they said they'd come back, but I haven't seen them. I've been praying for them to come back."
I am completely in awe at the fact that a very loving, compassionate Heavenly Father allowed me to take part in this miracle. He anwered her prayers by sending the group to study at her workplace, and He answered all of ours that she would be receptive to the message.
Wow...
Thank you ALL for your prayers for Hannah - please keep praying for her. I have a really good feeling that she WILL serve a mission -

I am trying to locate a member of the church in Brussels, Belgium or close area. My husband will work in Brussels for a few months and we our looking for a furnished apartment in the city of Brussels for our family (two small children) from 1 June to 31 August 2005. Unfortunately, we have not been successful yet. I am pulling all contacts right now and would be more than happy about a reply from any of you in Belgium.
Kindest regards

This coming Saturday is my two-year anniversary of taking the first hesitant step in finding out for myself if the gospel was true.
That day, I was downtown and went to Temple Square. Sister Ross and Sister Johnson took me on a tour, and it was all uphill from there.
There have been many, many trials and twists and turns - but in the end, I am so grateful for the seed those two sisters planted in my heart, and for all the others of my "little sisters" for refusing to let the seed die.
I love you all!
James
