Glad Tidings of Great Joy

THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS

Venezuela Caracas East Mission

Translated from the Spanish by Erin Howarth 06-02-2002

I Stand All Amazed

I.
I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me,
Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me.
I tremble to know that for me he was crucified,
That for me a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died.

Chorus:
Oh, it is wonderful that he should are for me enough to die for me!
Oh it is wonderful, wonderful to me.

II.
I marvel that he would descend from his throne divine,
To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine,
That he should extend his great love unto such as I,
Sufficient to own, to redeem, and to justify.

III.
I think of his hands pierced and bleeding to pay the debt,
Such mercy, such love, and devotion an I forget?
No, No, I will praise and adore at the mercy seat,
Until at the glorified thrown I kneel at his feet.

EASTER MESSAGE
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

At this sacred time of the year in the Christian world venerates in special form the atoning sacrifice and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, we solemnly added our personal testimony that He is truly, the way, the truth and the life. He is the promised Messiah, the Redeemer, the Prince of Peace. We testify that only fulfilling his teachings and following his example, the world can hope to find true peace. In some parts of the world it is now spring, the season in which the Earth, the trees and the flowers recover from winter. Spring is a symbol of the resurrection of the Savior because it inspires one with renewed hope and a new life, in the same way that the resurrection of Jesus Christ inspires. This transcendental event that occurred there almost two thousand years ago, offers the opportunity to renew completely to all those that are willing to conquer sin and mold their life in agreement with the example of the Salvador.

It is our sincere prayer that the Spirit of Christ touches the heart of people worldwide, especially the leaders of the nations, so that they may be susceptible to its divine influence and try to live in harmony and brotherhood with the others.

Also we pray that all can understand better the importance of the atonement of the Savior, who has provided us with a plan, a way of life, by which we will be able to find personal and family peace and true happiness in this life and further on.

I Know That My Redeemer Lives

I.
I know that my Redeemer lives.
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives; he lives who once was dead.
He lives, my ever-living Head.
He lives to bless me with his love,
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed.
He lives to bless in time of need.

II.
He lives to grant me rich supply.
He lives to guide me with his eye.
He lives to comfort me when faint.
He lives to hear my soul’s complaint.
He lives to silence all my fears.
He lives to wipe away my tears.
He lives to calm my troubled heart.
He lives all blessings to impart.

III.
He lives, my kind, wise heavenly Friend.
He lives and loves me to the end.
He lives, and while he lives I’ll sing.
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.
He lives and grants me daily breath.
He lives, and I shall conquer death.
He lives my mansion to prepare.
He lives to bring me safely there.

IV.
He lives! All glory to his mane!
He lives, my Savior, still the same.
Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:
“I know that my Redeemer lives!”
He lives! All glory to his name!
He lives, my Savior, still the same.
Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:
“I know that my redeemer lives!”

THE STEPS TO PRAY ARE:

  1. “Our Father in Heaven”
  2. “We thank thee for”
  3. “We ask thee for”
  4. “In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen”
Gloria a Dios en las Alturas

I.
Glory to God on high!
Let heaven and earth reply.
Praise ye his name.
His love and grace adore,
Who all our sorrows bore.
Sing aloud ever more:
Worthy the Lamb.

II.
Jesus, our Lord and God,
Bore sin’s tremendous load.
Praise ye his name.
Tell what his arm has done,
What spoils from death he own.
Sing his great name a lone;
Worthy the Lamb!

III.
Let all the hosts above
Join in one song of love,
Praising his name.
To him ascribed be
Honor and majesty
Thru all eternity:
Worthy the Lamb!

ADDRESS OF THE CHAPEL:

Luke 24: 5-6: And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is arisen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee?”
