I lived in the Midlothian Ward and the missionaries tracted to our home and baptized my mom (Abbie Vianes) in 1989. The missioanries then lived at our house from 1990-1997. We had both Sisters and Elders who lived with us. I knew many of you and I was finally baptized in Jan 1992 by Elders Drye and Buxton.

Other Comments

I left for BYU (not wanting to but under the counsel of the Elders)in 1992 and had a great time. I married John Hansen, who interestingly enough knew President Larry Johnson from his home Stake in Huntington Beach, CA. President Johnson knew John and told me I should marry him. I always trusted Prez. Johnson - he had a very strong impact on my conversion. He was right and John and I married in the Salt Lake Temple Oct 1993. I did not want to get married so young!! But the Lord had others plans and thankfully I had decided to get baptized and go to the Y. I got a Master's in Professional Counseling and worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist for 3 years until this past Jan. I'm now at home running my own business. John got a Master's in Architecture from Clemson University. I brought him back to the South - the Promised Land - and where Football is a religion :) We live in Greenville, SC, own a house, have no children, and are very busy. I'm a volunteer Institute teacher, teach Gospel Principles to the new converts, and we are the YSA Couple Advisor for our ward. John is also the Ward Mission Leader. We are very busy and having a great time here. We love missionary work - it holds a special place in my heart. We can't wait to see Elder Featherstone's prophecy about the South's conversion come to pass. This is a great time we are living in and we are happy to have so many temples now in the South. Each of you Elder's and Sister's are so special to me and had such a profound effect on me. I miss each of you and long for those wonderful missionary days back in VA. Love, Elise
