First Covenant to Last Covenant 15 Sep 2007
I can't express how honored I felt to have taught the wonderful people that I have. But I have a special story about someone special. Her name is Tricia Bowers, well it was until she got married. I was serving in the Bon Air Ward with Elder Clarke Richardson, and a young woman in the ward had brought one of her friends, who later we find out is now living with this member family. Trish (Tricia) new that they went to church on Sunday, and so asked if she could come with them. Who would turn that down right? Trish came to church and was curious to learn more, so of course my companion and I sprang into action, along with almost the entire ward. Next thing I knew we were teaching her in the Bishops home with two families. Trish said she "felt something" but didn't know what it was when we shared Joseph Smiths first Vision. Well, from that moment, and just a few more later, Trish was baptized. She asked me to baptize her and Elder Richardson to confirm her. Time goes by and my companion and I transfer to other areas of the mission, but always keeping in touch with Trish. I return home, find a beautiful bride, and we get a phone call that Trish is engaged to be married in the Washington, D.C. Temple. Elder Richardson, my companion while teaching Trish, returns home just a few weeks before the wedding, so he, my wife, and I all fly out together to Virginia. We witnessed the power of God and this great gospel flourish within this one individual from the first covenant of baptism, all the way through the temple to receive her last, and greatest covenant of eternal marriage. I will never forget Trish and her powerful testimony. Her faith has strengthened my testimony tremendously. Teaching her has been a humbling honor.
